Background & History
Controlled Creations was originally founded in 2002 to serve as a contractor for a startup company called “Web Benefits Design.” As one of the founding individuals, I, Darin Wardwell, played a significant role in growing the company from a zero-revenue concept into a thriving business that was acquired by CNO Financial for a mid-high 8-figure valuation in 2019. After spending an additional four years helping transition the application development team into the CNO organization, I decided to transition out of corporate America to refocus on my passions for early-stage companies, leveraging the lessons learned over the past 25 years.
I am excited to resurrect Controlled Creations and make a real difference for people and brands struggling in today’s digital marketplace. My goal is to help clients achieve sustainable success through innovative solutions and dedicated support.
Mission & Vision
The core mission of Controlled Creations is to focus on things inspire passion: adding maximum value in a short amount of time by leveraging technology, custom web applications, and a “get shit done” mentality. I aim to blend my passion for photography and small UAS piloting, for which I hold a Part 107 FAA certificate, into my business offerings. My long-term goals are to build sustainable revenue models for clients and partners while doing work that I love.
